XP Pro is xp pro, it should run ISE fine ...

Should even be possible to run it directly on OSX

Ah colleague of mine is running ISE8.2i in Kubuntu Linux running in
"Parallels" (on a Mac Book pro), works fine, including the drivers for
the Platform USB Cable to program devices via JTAG.
