Progrmming a flash connected to a Stratix II GX - jfh - 2010-02-08 23:24:00

Hi;

We are trying to program a CFI Flash (Numonyx TE28F320J3D75) using the
flash programmer of Quartus II/EDS 9.1. We followed the instructions
given in the User's Guide (from february 2010 !), and the programmer
is reading the CFI table correctly, but when it comes to actual
programming, it stops at 0%, with the following message :
"
Program failed
Error code : 4 in .....nios2flashprogrammer.exe ....
"
In parallel, we have been running read and write tests on the flash
and they are passing.
Thus we suspect that something may be wrong with the flash
programmer... would you have any idea of what we need to check and
what we can do to have a bit more visibility of what's going on ?

Best regards,

JF

If you've tried all the advice in section 3 (--debug, flash override
file etc), perhaps you should follow the last sentence :-)

"If you find a CFI-compliant device that does not work with the Nios II
Flash
Programmer, please report it to Altera Technical Support."

regards
Alan
