I'm working with a Xilinx board (Spartan XC3S2000) and I can't program Flash Eprom. I'm using iMPACT software. I have generated a configuration file for Eprom and I load it on Eprom. But it doesn't work. When I disconnect my parallel cable IV and set jumpers, my board does not read eprom program. Can someone help me please? How have I to set jumpers?

Hello every one, We have designed a board which contains an ALTERA fpga and an EPROM(EPC2LC20).The design is done with respect to some existing reference schematics. We have populated our PCB so as to get the power to all the components and then we have placed the components making up the JTAG circuitary along with the FPGA and EPROM. ...

(Sorry, this is a bit off topic, but I do use this to load bitfiles into FPGAs.) I have a Xeltek Superpro/Z eprom programmer, with their winsp ver. 1.0 software, running on Win 2K/Pro. Today I had need to erase and reprogram an Atmel 17LV256 EEPROM, but the erase button on the programmer GUI is grayed out. I can't remember if I ever did this before. I used to use UV-erasable EPROMS, but...

I'm looking a PLD with 5V TTL-compatible I/O that has ~2Mb of integrated memory that can be used as ROM and ~64Kb of integrated memory that can be used as EEPROM. Initially I considered using a parallel EPROM, serial EEPROM together with lots of TTL, but soon I realized that the EPROM, EEPROM together with a 22V10 GAL and a 74573 register would be a simpler solution. A few days ago I notic...

Hy! I would like to make board with Spartan2 (exactly XC2S50-5PQ208), and that FPGA must be configured in master serial mode using serial EPROM, exactly M25P10. Does anybody know how to use serial EPROM M25P10 for configuring my FPGA without using microcontroller or CPLD?? Problem is when I cleared configuration memory in FPGA, and configuration pins are set in master serial mode, is there a...

I am in urgent need of the XCF02S EPROM. A very standard component for Xilinx device yet it is impossible to source. INSITE will only sell but in the bucket load only, while I only require one or two. Does anyone know how or who sells to the small people Cheers Chuk

Gentlemen: I have a situation where some of my compatriots want to be able to reset a Virtex2 in order to reload the program from the 18V04 chips. Generally, they are going to want to do this after they have loaded a new image into the eprom's and they want to do it under program control. Would I be correct in assuming that all they need to do is instantiate glbl.v in their design ...

Hi, I just got a newsletter stating the Spartan3AN being available now. While these Spartan3AN are market as "new non-volatile" FPGAs, this might (IMHO) be misleading. For my understanding "non-volatile" would mean no configuration on power-ON (as e.g. ACTEL AntiFuse) rather than Config-Eprom being integrated in FPGA chip's housing (being a separate die as well). Nevertheless this defin...

Hi! Thanks to the forum for satisfactory replies to my previous queries. I have one other query regarding FPGA configuration. I am planning to use Atmel's ATLV256 EPROM to configure my spartan 2 XC2s150[Its in DIP package so easy to program from my universal programmer]. The RESET/OE(bar) pin of ATLV256 can be programmed to RESET(bar)/OE[i.e. active LO RESET which the spartan 2 requires]. ...

Hi all, I am working on a STM32-based programmer for the olimex iCE40HX1K-EVB fpga dev.board. (now trying to implement the "SPI Slave configuration" protocol). Looking at the Lattice "programming and Configuration guide" (page 11), it is noted on table 8 that a FLASH EPROM for a ICE40-LP/LX1K must be at least 34112 bytes. However, all binary-files as created by the icestorm-tools...

I picked up an EE Tools TopMax universal device programmer at the flea market recently. It appears to be in fine shape, but it fails the hardware test in the Windows software. Some functions seem to work OK (e.g. the 74xx logic test/identifier), but I haven't been able to successfully program a 27C256 EPROM, so I suppose it really is faulty. I opened it up and there's no obvious damage ...

Hi, Since the Actel RAM modules cannot be preloaded a program time, I need a module that will read data from an I2C serial EPROM and load up the block RAM. Actel has an ap note on doing this, but they did not include any VHDL code. I hate to re-invent the wheel.. does someone have a RAM pre-loader module to share? Hey programmable logic seniors! I'm planning to build an Atari VCS 2600 game cartridge in order to play with my "brand new" console acquired from ebay. I would like to replace the old fashioned 27C series EPROM by a programmable device thus cutting board space and (main reason) merging the bankswitching logic and rom file in a single device. My requirements are 32k x 8 (64k is a plus) of non ...
