Hi, I wrote a small example for the Digilent Spartan 3 Starter Kit. It uses the sram to store graphics data. Actually basing on this module I wanted to code a fractal generator. Here is the link, maybe someone finds it useful : http://tokis-edv-service.de/index.php/beispiele/spartan-3-example-1 The last test is a rather long time ago. Best Regards Thorsten

I have to develop some electronics that will probably fit nicely into a spartan3 device xc3s200 or xc3s400. Which series / package should I choose for long availability? I am considering the TQFP144 or PQ208 package, I try to avoid BGA. Will there be any differences in the long-term availability between spartan 3, spartan 3A, spartan 3E, or even spartan 3AN? Thanks, Thomas

Hi, Just got a question what to do if future needs fill up a Spartan-3A DSP 3400 CS484. A very quick and unqualified look at Spartan-6 family show a package called CSG484 with same physical dimensions as the CS484. Hope to do as few changes on the PCB as possible. Since the supply voltage is not the same, a drop-in replacement will not be possible anyway, but I would like to keep the rewirin...

I'm planning to use Spartan 3e and SDRAM for a product - sort of a simple video "card" for an embedded CPU system. I got myself the Spartan 3e STARTER kit and I'm trying to use the SDRAM on board. Found the MIG 1.6 and the pre-configured "bl2cl2" set of files. Got them to synthesize by editing a full (wrong for me) path to "params" file. So far so good. Changed the UCF to use the 50 MHz ...

Hi guys I have just finished routing a simple board with a 208 pin qfp spartan 3. I have just used top and bottom layers and it is time to add the power. I need 3.3v for all IO and the 1.2v and 2.5v for vccint and vccaux. I have not routed any signal under the spartan on either layer so I plan to use GND on 1 inner layer and 3.3 on the fourth layer with an island of 1.2 or 2.5 under the sp...

However when checking on this by chance today I found that it seems to not work because: Read commands are defined as: http://www.sdcard.org/about/memory_card/pls/Simplified_Physical_Layer_Spec.pdf READ_SINGLE_BLOCK 0x51 READ_MULTI.. 0x52 But Spartan-3E SPI...
