So does anyone understand the point of Tektronix's new TekVPI probe interface? It seems to me pure connector conspiracy: So lets see, now...

So does anyone understand the point of Tektronix's new TekVPI probe interface? It seems to me pure connector conspiracy: So lets see, now we have: TekProbe-II: long standing probes... TekVPI: 4 GHz probe interface, but pointlessly different from TekProbe-II. $400 adaptors allow you to use TekProbe-II probes... TekConnect: different from above to exceed 4 GHz BNC limit... TAP15...

I would like to know which logic analyzers others are using in the industry. What make and model logic analyzer do you use and what are your likes / dislikes about it? Is anyone using an analyzer not made by Agilent or Tektronix, and are you happy with it? I am specifically looking at stand alone (or host PC based) type analyzers and not the type that are cores like Xilinx's ChipScope (...

My apologies to those who'd consider this spam, but my house in Milpitas, CA was burglarized and among the less mainstream objects stolen were a Tektronix THS730 oscilloscope and a Digilent Spartan 3E-1600 Development Board.
