Embedded Online Conference 2021 - Watch the Speakers Share their Thoughts on the Value for Attendees

Well after attending some of those conferences myself.
I have to saw two things.
1 - Thank you, the feeling is pretty similar to an in-person conference, especially that feeling of not being able to pause the conference first time, since if you do you'll miss either the rest of the conference or the QA live session, but with the added bonus that you can indeed come back to rewatch the thing to really grasp the details.
2 - Even when I sort of miss the human interaction of these events, this online conference allowed to interact with people all over the world, speakers, and attendees, more easily than in an in-person event.

All in all, I hope that in the future, there are a combination, in-person events, and online events, of this magnitude.

I agree with karosuo but with respect to the recent DSPOnline conference. Many employers will send employees to conferences at, perhaps $1000-2000/day expenses depending on the location and duration. The twist is that in my more than 40 years of experience at many of the largest corporations in America, the limit is 1 conference/year for each employee. The government sector is similar due to the lack of funds these days. Furthermore, the employee is expected to come back and disseminate what they learned at the conference. I've seen limited and mixed results from such an arrangement. 

Yes, it is nice to get away from the office, sort of a "company paid vacation" as some say. But how about the benefit to the profession at large? How about pro hobbyists/retired individuals that are still making significant contributions that cannot afford such extravagant and infrequent binges? I think what Stephane clearly demonstrated is that the online experience is a success. In the future, a mix of in-person and online, IMHO, should be a requirement. Not so much the in-person, but the online experience. Online participation spread the experience, learning, and exchange of ideas to a more diverse group of individuals and it opens up more possibilities for innovation.
