SDRAM controller selection

Hello grps,

Can you tell me what is the basis for selecting the DDR controller? For
example i have a micron DDR SDRAM and i have to see if it compatible
with the DDR controller which is within network processor. Wht all
parameter should i check?
Please let me know that
