I spend my days as a firmware/Embedded engineer writing code for FPGAs and Microprocessors. I Know Verilog, VHDL, C and some days I am ok with Julia, Matlab, Python, C++. Most of what I do is DSP related, or the required links to move the processed data.

A processor would be faster to develop and test. On the surface a processor with I2S peripherals seems like a better fit.  However you asked about FPGAs, so here...
